It’s hard to say what a company is really about. What is it that defines a company? Is it the business idea, the products or maybe even the customers? It's relatively easy to answer in general terms but you can also try and dig a little bit deeper. So what is Things of Colour really about?

This particular company started with two Swedish guys who found inspiration in Hong Kongs colourful and dynamic atmosphere. The idea was to create well designed lifestyle products for the everyday customer at an affordable price. The products should be simple, elegant and have a little story of their own to tell.

Being able to source and produce locally in China allows us to actually realize these products at a reasonable price that doesn't restrict them to the high-end design boutiques. In short, why design for someone else back home when you can just come out here and do the whole thing yourself? Turns out there were loads of really good reasons, but by then it was already too late.

We don’t really limit ourselves to one sort of product or one field of design. We try to create products that are odd funny and colourful, that have a bit of personality about them. Or things that seem completely normal but with an unexpected twist. But to keep things in some sort of order, we try our best to make our products fit into these three categories.
